Metacon and German green tech distributor B4H signs MoU for sale and installation of H2PS-5 in Germany and start taking orders

Must read

Metacon and the German green tech distributor Brennstoffzelle4home GmbH (B4H) has signed a MoU for distribution and sale of Metacon’s Combined Heat and Power (CHP) unit “H2PS-5” on the German market and Metacon receives its first order for five H2PS-5 units for delivery to B4H’s customersMetacon GmbH and B4H will as soon as the product receives its certification for the German market, start a collaboration for the sale, installation, service, and after-market sales in Germany of the H2PS-5 line. B4H has received orders from customers for the firstfive H2PS-5 units for delivery following the receipt of the German product certification.

Driven by the market potential and the increasing demand for clean energy and fuel solutions that are largely independent of foreign countries, the hydrogen and hydrogen-related market is developing rapidly in Germany. In this context, Metacon already decided on a special focus on the German market during the introduction and early growth phase of the CHP and hydrogen generator product lines.

The business of B4H, part of B4H Green Energy SE, is focusing on the development, manufacture, distribution and installation of fuel cell and other energy systems in Germany. In this context, the company evaluated the CHP market in Germany last year and concluded that primarily the hydrogen-related sector is developing rapidly, but that there are deficits in terms of meeting certain market needs. This analysis showed that the product H2PS-5 offered by Metacon should provide a good fit for this market segment in Germany and close existing gaps.

For these reasons, Metacon and B4H have now decided to join forces in Germany and develop a plan for how to capture a large part of the accessible opportunities on this market. The work on the terms and conditions for a distribution agreement has started.

We are very glad to have found in BH4 a sales partner for Germany that, in addition to its many years of experience in the field of CHP and fuel cells, also has an extensive sales and established service network” says Dr Christian Hofmann, Managing Director of Metacon GmbH.

Mr. Wolfgang Balthasar, Sales Director, B4H, commented; “We are an established distributor in Germany already for products in very relevant areas. Thus, we trust our capability to sell and support these products and we also see that they fill a gap and meet an important need on our market. We are looking forward to growing and establishing this product line on the German market together with Metacon.”

About Metacon AB (publ)

Metacon AB (publ) develops and manufactures energy systems to produce hydrogen, heat, and electricity. The products are based on a patented technology that generates hydrogen through so-called catalytic steam reforming of biogas or other hydrocarbons. The development of Metacon’s reforming products is done within the wholly-owned subsidiary Helbio, which is a spin-off from the University of Patra, Greece, and was founded by Professor Xenophon Verykios in 2001. The business has focused on catalysts and advanced reforming for high-efficiency hydrogen production from the onset.

Metacon also offers system solutions for hydrogen production through electrolysis, a large and globally growing area for small and large-scale production of green hydrogen. Electrolysis is the process of starting and driving a chemical reaction to split water by adding electricity. If the electricity used is non-fossil and green, the hydrogen will become completely climate-neutral and green. Green hydrogen can be used in, for example, the transport sector, the primary industry, and the real estate sector with a better environment and climate.
